Losing my mind….

Monday – ran for 100 minutes. (No Mum the extra 0 on the end is not a mistake!)

Tuesday – registered to run a half marathon (that’s like 21 km!!!)

Wednesday – set the alarm for 5.30 & got up to go for a run ON MY DAY OFF!!!!

Friday- planning to run for 60 minutes around Hills!

Sunday – planning to run for 120 minutes!!!!

At least I know I am not alone in my madness! The loverly Delwyn joins me every time!!! And go & listen to Kerre - she’s crazy too!

Also our good friend Dee is running her first marathon (that’s 42 blimmin k’s) in Rotorua on Sunday Saturday, and Karen’s sister Maryanne is walking as well. Maryanne is being sponsored and is trying to raise funds for a physiotherapist specialising in respiratory rehab to work in her home town. We wish them both all the very best!!!

POST MARATHON UPDATE: Dee finished in an extremely respectable time of 4hours and 4 mins!!!

Horton….

Today I had the day off work and this afternoon Albie & Miss D had their first trip to the movies. I went with them to watch Horton Hears A Who.  Bart & Rob went & saw Spiderwick Chronicles. While the little ones did sort of enjoy it and it was exciting to go, it was not overly successful, and we wont be rushing them back. They found it too loud and too long to sit still.  I shall save my dollars to buy the DVD’s for a little while longer.

Kids……………

Albie was asked to check the toilet paper in the bathrooms & make sure there was enough. Guessing (hoping) we wont run out for a while.

And guess what Bart was caught playing with!

A quick roll away and all was denied…”I was just tidying” – “Yeah Right”

It’s been a busy day…….

Yesterday morning we headed over to Waihi Beach to spend some time with the delightful Del, her mum, dad & sister…. Dad wasn’t there when we arrived, the sensible man had gone fishing, but we met mum and caught up with Sue…… It was the start of a full on day for 3 kiddos. When we arrived we were greated by two bundles of energy:- Charlie (white) & Maggie

There was great trepidation on exiting the car – Miss D ready to leap straight back into her seat. So Sue put the dogs in her room and we headed inside…. Then Del suggested that the kids head outside to play fetch with the above terrifying puppies. Everyone was keen (much to my surprise) and took off. Five minutes later……..

After chasing the dogs & the ball everyone was a bit tuckered out, so they tested out the new spa pool that has been installed since our stay…

Then it was inside for some lunch – a really yummy pumpkin soup & some feijoas…….

Back outside to bond with puppies some more…..

And then back home for more fun in the spa pool………..

All the time trying to get us invited to stay for dinner in case Mr Gower came home with loads of fresh fish. We were just starting to get ready to leave (a mission in itself) when Mr Gower duly arrived home – with fresh fish. Del gave us a huge bag full………

And there is enough left over for lunch……..

Albie fell asleep on the way home (in the Karangahape Gorge), Miss D fell asleep on the outskirts of Hamilton… And they all slept until after 7 this morning. Breakfast this morning finished with a huge feast of feijoa’s also bought back from Waihi Beach… Yummm a fun, food filled day.

Sleepover

Miss D has her first sleep over tonight

She is next door with Melissa and we have Nathaniel. It was rather strange not having her here and having lots of kisses & cuddles before bed. The three boys all just went and even Albie didn’t ask Mum to sleep with him tonight…. Although given his sleeping arrangements, I doubt I would have joined him anyway…..

Twoanahalf Weeks at School

Have gone really fast.  Miss D & Albie have both settled in really well. They have both had certificates in the class room… (’scuse the photo’s couldn’t be bothered trying to work out the multifunction beastie in the office)….

There is going to be competition… They are powering through their jelly bean words -  “I know 8 – L only has 7″…… See competition….. And have all of their letters of the alphabet marked off…….

And on Friday, in the last assembly of term Miss D, apparently waving nicely to Cam & Bayd and anyone else she recognised, got called up in assembly by her teacher to get a certificate for service. Hasn’t yet made it home, but we believe her because Bayd thought it was hilarious that she waved at him……  At least she’s not shy.

There is a girl in their class who is having problems settling and is in tears in the morning.  Miss D sits with her and helps her settle into the morning for at least half an hour. Her teacher commented on it at parent teacher interviews and has recognised her kindness.

Tooth #2

Looking like the tooth fairy will get to visit very soon…… This tooth is not hanging on by much, and it is bugging her like crazy and hurting quite abit!

But not enough to leave it alone ……..

Blimmin’ Netball

Well, This week Rob sent the kids off to school, bought the timber to repair the deck Wednesday & then Thursday went to play netball with some of the mums from Kindy…….

10.30 I get a phone call at work…..

Come & pick me up from Northcare! He had gone over on his ankle. They thought that he had possibly broken it, because of the cracking noise they all heard as he went down, but it is sprained….

Of course I didn’t laugh, and he got all the sympathy he wanted…. NOT!

And now the bruising is starting to show…..

Tooth update

I thought Miss D would have a gap for awhile – but her new tooth is already through & the other front tooth (on the right) is already wiggly!

I suspect she may lose 2 more teeth very soon!!! Originally the new tooth was behind the one on the left, but is pushing it out of the way!

School Kids

Albie & Miss D have had 3 days at school. They are loving it. They are in Room 2, with Mrs Poland and they really like her. Te Rapa’s swimming pool has solar panels and is warm so they are still swimming… Here are a few photos from their birthday and first day of school.

Nana gave them these shirts. It is very appropraite, as one of the things Kindy is going to miss about Albie is his “ability to make girlfriends”. At last count he had 6!

5 days old vs 5 years

Their birthday party is tomorrow.  Because Rob has been on the kindy committee for so long, we have been able to use the kindy – which is good, because not counting our 3 there will be 32 kids!!!!!!
